Modern States is an online program that helps students complete their freshman year of college for free.

Why Modern States?

All students must take core classes in math, science, social studies, English and a modern language. Students can take these online courses at their pace to fulfill the core classes requirement. 

How does it work?

After completing a Modern States course, students are given a waiver to take the CLEP exam. If they pass the CLEP exam, they can be granted academic credit by the institution they send their scores to.

The CLEP and FLATS exams allow students to obtain college credit in a modern language. 

• Students can obtain up to 14 credit hours.
• Most Spanish speaking students take the Spanish CLEP or FLATS exam and are able to obtain full credit.
