A University of North Georgia (黑料正能量) graduate student recently had a scholarly article published in the "Journal of Educational Impact." Dalson Gunter's article, appeared in the Sept. 3 issue of the journal.

Gunter is pursuing a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction. The Dawsonville, Georgia, resident earned a bachelor's degree in history with teacher certification in May.

He said faculty members in the College of Education have helped him improve his communication skills through the years, preparing him well for the multiple rounds of edits required of a scholarly publication.

The article started as a class paper this summer in the master's program. Dr. Jessica Espinoza, an assistant professor and the curriculum and instruction program coordinator, encouraged him to pursue a publication for his research. Gunter hopes his success in getting published will inspire others.

"It's not as intimidating as it seems," Gunter said. "In the end, it will make you a better writer."

Espinoza was grateful to see the fruits of Gunter's work rewarded.

"This is what happens when you level up with our graduate program," she said. "Our students don't just graduate. They become published researchers."
