Nursing Practice (DNP)

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of North Georgia provides an advanced nursing degree to registered nurses with a master's degree seeking a terminal practice doctorate. The DNP represents the preferred educational preparation for advanced practice nurses as recommended by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the Institute of Medicine (IOM).

All students will complete a DNP Project as the culmination of their program that focuses on quality improvement, practice change, program development/evaluation, policy updates/changes, or legislative initiatives.

  • Asynchronous online classes with optional synchronous sessions; most core courses meet one day per month.
  • Program length 38 or 44 credit hours depending on Track selected
  • 5 semesters (full-time) or 8 semesters (part-time)

  • No entrance test required
