Requirements
- Baccalaureate from an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the ) with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (4.0 scale) calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures.
- Employment as a teacher in a Middle Grades classroom working with students at least 20 hours per week.
- Clear/renewable teaching certificate in Middle Grades Math or Middle Grades Science in the state of Georgia. Graduate Admissions will verify your certificate through the .
- Teachers certified in states other than Georgia may be eligible. To qualify, you must hold the equivalent of a Georgia clear/renewable teaching certificate. Please contact Graduate Admissions for additional information.

Submit one set of official transcripts from each institution attended for all course work, undergraduate and graduate level.
- Transfer credit posted on records of other institutions is not accepted in lieu of transcripts from original institutions. Please request a transcript from each institution attended.
- Transcripts that have been opened, scanned or forwarded by email are not official and will not be accepted.
- Official paper transcripts are accepted if submitted from the issuing institution and mailed to University of North Georgia Admissions Imaging Center, P.O. Box 1358, Gainesville, GA 30503-1358. Student paper transcripts are accepted only when issued to the student in a sealed envelope and submitted to Graduate Admissions unopened.
- Official electronic transcripts are accepted if submitted from the issuing institution to grads@ung.edu. Depending on the transcript service you are using, grads@ung.edu may not be an available option. You may then select any admissions or undergraduate admissions @ung.edu address. Electronic transcripts forwarded via email from the student are not accepted.
- International transcripts must have a course-by-course credential evaluation by an independent evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. () or Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (). Evaluations must be sent directly from the agency to the Admissions office. Refer to the evaluator website for a full list of or members. Official evaluations must include certification that the applicant's course work and degrees earned are equivalent to course work and degrees earned from an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the ) and include a cumulative grade point average. Evaluations should be submitted from the evaluation service to Graduate Admissions. Evaluations must include certification that the applicant has received a baccalaureate from an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the ) with a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
- Graduate Admissions will retrieve transcripts of coursework completed in-residence at 黑料正能量. You do not need to order official transcripts from 黑料正能量.
Board of Regents’ policy requires all applicants accepted for admission or readmission to 黑料正能量 seeking in-state for tuition classification provide validation of residency and lawful presence in both the state of Georgia and the United States.

Students who do not meet the regular admission criteria may be granted provisional admission pending a successful admission appeal. See Appeal of Graduate Admission.
Provisional degree-seeking students
- may register for a maximum of nine semester hours of graduate credit.
- will be reviewed to determine eligibility for regular admission following completion of the first semester enrolled.
- are not eligible for federal financial aid while enrolled in courses as a provisional student.
- will not be allowed to continue in the program if a grade of C or lower is earned in any graduate course.
- may apply for readmission after three semesters from the date removed from the program because of a deficient grade by submitting a new application to Graduate Admissions with a letter addressed to the program coordinator requesting readmission.

The Master of Education in Middle Grades Math and Science program does not permit non-degree students.

A student currently enrolled at an accredited institution (as defined under Accredited Institutions in the Academic Information section of the ) as a graduate student in good standing may apply to 黑料正能量 as a transient student.
- Permission to take courses does not indicate or imply subsequent admission into the program.
- Students must receive pre-approval from the program coordinator before enrolling in courses.
- Requests will be considered on a space-available basis.
- Admission is for one semester only.
- Students who wish to return as a transient student for a subsequent semester must reapply through Graduate Admissions.
- Students may be required to submit an official transcript from the home institution in order to verify adequate prerequisite knowledge/skills.

International applicants who must be issued an F-1 visa by 黑料正能量 to enter the United States to attend school may not apply for completely part-time (less than nine hours) or online programs. This program is only offered as an online program and therefore does not permit F-1 visa student admission.
This program requires current teacher certification. The University of North Georgia is unable to offer a path to enrollment for foreign nationals without current teacher certification in the United States.

A candidate whose application is denied has the right to appeal the decision. A written letter of appeal must include strong evidence to support the basis for your appeal. The appeal should consist of information beyond what was previously submitted in your admissions file and detail your ability to be successful in graduate studies.
- Students whose appeals are granted will be admitted as provisional students.
- Students are not eligible for financial aid while taking courses under a provisional admission status.
- Students may not appeal for regular admission.

- Students must have access to a middle grades classroom (grades 4 - 8) Math or Science to complete coursework.
- If not, please contact your advisor upon acceptance into program.
- Students conduct all work online, including team projects, exams, discussion posts, and case studies.
- Students have access to online academic resources such as those available through 黑料正能量's Library Technology Center.
- Courses are asynchronous, so there are no scheduled online class meetings except those you might make with peers for group work.
- Students must have high speed internet access. Courses are delivered via Desire to Learn (D2L) course management system.
- All students will have access to Anthology, a platform that will be used to submit course key assessments and program portfolio.

Welcome to the University of North Georgia's Masters of Education in Middle Grades Math and Science program. Hopefully you received an acceptance letter directing you to this site, which contains very important information on how to begin your studies, as well as guides on other processes and protocols. Please check this site for information regarding questions you may have. Note that these guides are meant for students enrolled in this Georgia on my line (GOML) program. Here are some key steps for getting started:
- Student Email - Upon admission to the University of North Georgia, each student is provided with a student email account. Student email (URL: ) is the official channel of communication between the university and its students. It is the responsibility of the student to periodically monitor his/her student email account and be aware of the information sent by the university. Lack of knowledge that results from failure to monitor university email communications will not excuse students from complying with university policies, procedures and/or deadlines and will not be considered grounds for appeal for relief from those policies, procedures and deadlines. Visit the I.T. Success Guide and I.T.'s Frequently Asked Questions for more details about your username, password, how to access your email and other important email information.
- Banner: This system allows students to register, access their student records and financial aid, and update personal information. Students are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with this system. Log in to for details on accessing this system.

- Calendars: Please see view (and bookmark) the for important dates, such as registration and start of classes.
- Course Registration: Registration is completed through the regular campus registration system, using your Banner log-in username and password.
- Paying for Courses: This is important so that you are not dropped from your courses. You may view your invoice within your Banner account.
- Accessing Courses: For GoVIEW/GOML students, there is also a special course management system, Desire to Learn (D2L). Access your GeorgiaVIEW account by following the on screen instructions.
- Anthology and your Program Portfolio: For your capstone, end-of-the-program project, you are required to complete a Program Portfolio. You will submit your final product in Anthology.
- Your Program Portfolio: Your portfolio will be a collection of your work or 'artifacts' that you've completed in your courses. You will select work that best represents your performance but work that also aligns to the National Board for Professional Teachers standards. Your portfolio will also include a brief reflection in which you will make connections between the standards and your work. The instructions for accessing and completing your portfolio will be shared with you as you complete your capstone course (i.e., MGMS 7650) in the program.
